Another excellent read in this area would be Homo Evolutis (Kindle Single) (TED Books) written by Steve Gullans and Juan Enriquez.

Per their definition Homo Evolutis is a hominid that directly and deliberately controls the evolution of its own and of other species. This TED Book is a quick, informative, entertaining 2 hour read. Yes, I have recommended it before. Click here to view those earlier blog posts.
