I just completed reading a book titled “Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen” by Christopher McDougall.
This is a fascinating book for runners, joggers, walkers and anyone else interested in human history or possibilities. I highly recommend this book!
A quick check of the book’s amazon.com ratings show over 100 customer reviews with the vast majority of them being 5 star.
For more information click above on the book’s image.

As I said before, I highly recommend this book. If you don’t believe me, take a quick look at the reviews documented on Amazon.com.
Enjoy! Learn!
One more thing – the Tarahumara Indians are the hidden tribe inhabiting the Copper Canyons of Mexico.
Isn’t the life expectancy of the Tarahumara in the low 50′s ?

I do not recall seeing the average life expectancy of the Tarahumara mentioned in the book. My copy of the book is currently loaned out to another runner.
If you learn the answer to the Tarahumara life expectancy question, please come back and post it here.
In the meantime, please run at your own risk!
Thanks.
Hey, just ran across your Web site looking for the same info. According to some stuff on Lehigh University’s Web site (http://www.lehigh.edu/~dmd1/art.html) the average life expectancy is 45. The only problem I see with this is they don’t even venture an educated guess as to why this is, whether it’s running, their diet/drinking, lack of access to medicine or so on.

Thanks for providing additional information on the Tarahumara.
They certainly live in a primitive, unforgiving environment.
